Who & What is a Good Thing??
The Bible says in Proverbs 18:22 “He who finds a wife, finds a Good Thing and obtains favor from the Lord”.
So what does this mean?! Good Things (Good Godly women) are rare jewels!
For example: Certain jewels like rubies are not common or easily found. Rubies are created over a long period of time; they are created under pressure! They are proof that God has been working on them for awhile. A Good Thing (Good Godly Woman) is a virtuous, reserved, good hearted, intelligent, capable & diligent women. Because these types of women are not created overnight, it is considered a blessing to find a Good Thing (Ruby/Good Godly Woman). Not every woman has character or virtue (high morals or standards) because it is not something you're born with but it's deposited into each individual over a life time. Anyone can be born with a nice nose, perfect teeth, long hair or a nice physique, but the beauty of God's creation is a virtuous woman, aka a Good Thing. You don't have to show your breast, buttocks, or body to get OR keep a man, but you can be beautiful and fully covered up. No ladies, I'm not saying you have to dress like a grandma or an old lady, but you don't have to dress like a stripper either. The bible says in Proverbs 31:30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised! The bible is saying that your physical appearance will fade and your body will change, but a woman who fear (serves, loves, reverence, and worship) God will forever be praised and will never lose value. So ask yourself, am I rare? ... Am I A Good Thing?
